On the 5th of June 2026, Mistral posted a memo on its website stating that it renamed its AI-service Le Chat into Vibe. The company promised that all the accounts, conversations, and saved content will not disappear after the update.
Rebranding is marked not only by the change of name, but also by a change of concept. Vibe became a service with a “broader set of capabilities” which include “delegating complex, multi-step tasks across (…) apps and tools”, coding, and chatting. The update, however, hasn’t yet brought any significant changes in policies.
After the renaming, we have updated our tracking processes accordingly.
This means that the Le Chat declaration file was terminated. The data from that file was saved in a history file, which was added to the collection. Finally, the new Vibe declaration file was created. From now on, in order to follow policy updates of the service, one should check the Vibe folder in the genai-eu-versions repository.
